About the Ortofloricola San Giorgio family estate
We love healthy, sustainably grown, regional and unique food.
On our family farm, Ortofloricola San Giorgio, we produce organic citrus fruits with a focus on old indigenous Sicilian varieties such as blood oranges and femminello lemons.
From November to June, we grow a large selection of different oranges, lemons and mandarins as well as pomegranates, avocados, bitter oranges, prickly pears and olives.
Our aim is to create a farm where the production of high-quality products goes hand in hand with the preservation and regeneration of the ecosystem.

Our oranges are harvested by experienced hands, hand-picked and left in their natural state – for pure taste straight from the tree to you.
At Sicitry, our oranges are carefully hand-picked and selected with the utmost care – each fruit is natural and untreated. This allows us to preserve the full flavor and natural aromas that Sicily’s sun and soil put into every orange. Enjoyment could not be fresher and more genuine!
The "San Giorgio" estate where Etna bears its fruit
The surroundings of the San Giorgio estate offer incomparable charm. Located between Mount Etna and the sea in one of the most inspiring areas of Sicily, it is a land of lush gardens, hills, pastures and orange groves. At the heart of the estate are 120 hectares of commercial horticultural crops, the majority of which are high-quality organic citrus varieties.
Geographically located in the east of Sicily, which has always been the main region for the production of the sweetest blood oranges.
Rudolf Freiherr von Freyberg-Eisenberg has been running the estate, which has been in our family for thousands of years, for almost 40 years. Rudolf has been converting the farm to organic farming for 15 years, but out of conviction and passion he goes much further than what the organic guidelines prescribe. This made it possible for the estate to be awarded the “Wildlife Estate Label” by the ELO(European Landowners Organization).
